The robox Modern City baseplate, optimised with Roblox Vis Tools! Changes: * StreamingEnabled = false * All buildings have software occlusion culling * All detail objects fade out at a distance * Street trees turn into Imposters at a distance * Terrain removed/redone (couldn't see it) Results: About a 3-4x reduction in triangle count, and no streaming enabled required. How it's done: Three things, really. * Software occlusion! Large blockers are placed in the scene to remove hidden surfaces. In this scene the middle buildings block line of sight quite a lot, usually about half the buildings in view are occluded. * Detail objects fade out - Small objects are faded out at a distance. Bigger objects fade out further away. * Street trees have Imposters, so turn into quads at a distance * Some objects like mailboxes have LOD models, so you can see them at any range.
